Question #2:

Gifts for 2 year old boys & girls?

A few of us friends are meeting this labor weekend to spend time together and have fun. Few of us have kids. My own is 10 months old. My friends' kids are gonna be 2 this october and december.
I wanted to take along gifts for the kids. I live in Charlotte currently and will be travelling to Texas for the get-together, so the gift shd be something I can carry with me on the flight and not consume space.
Am looking for suggestions as to what gifts should I get for these kids who are in the range of 1.5 yrs-2 yrs.

Question #3:

Why are we wasting BILLIONS of dollars to give free food, shelter, and free medical care to illegal Mexicans?

Instead of using those billions to go back to the moon!?!
Something to advance American science and maybe better the lives of AMERICAN people with new medicine and technology!

Those illegal Mexicans can go back to their OWN country and starve to death for all I care!
And the majority of Americans feel this way too!
We need to take care of our OWN people, and move on the future for our OWN people!
Not let tens of MILLIONS of worthless illegal aliens drag us down their third world level!

NASA tests most powerful booster rocket ever
(AFP) – 4 hours ago
WASHINGTON — NASA and aerospace company ATK Aerospace Systems successfully tested Tuesday the most powerful solid-fuel rocket engine ever, even though its future in the space program remains in doubt.
A huge roar and massive flames accompanied the two-minute "static" or non-flight test of the five-segment DM-2 (Demonstration Motor 2) rocket booster in the western desert state of Utah.
The DM-2 was designed as the first stage of the Ares I rocket to provide the lift-off thrust for the next generation of Orion spacecraft, which NASA hoped would return astronauts to the moon by 2020.
US President Barack Obama has said he plans to cancel the Constellation program in which the boosters would have been used, throwing the fate of the next-generation engine into question.
The second test of the DM-2 was aimed at seeing if it could work at lower temperatures and verify the performance of new design materials.
The solid rocket boosters are an upgrade in design over ones used to propel NASA's shuttle fleet into space and are the largest and most powerful ever designed for flight.
Once the shuttle program ends early next year, the United States will rely on Russia's Soyuz rockets to carry its astronauts to the International Space Station until a commercial US launcher can be developed, scheduled for 2015.
The second test of the DM-2, aided by more than 760 on-board measurement devices, showed the motor's performance had met all expectations.
"For every few degrees the temperature rises, solid propellant burns slightly faster," said Alex Priskos, first stage manager for Ares Projects at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
"Only through robust ground testing can we understand how material and motor performance is impacted by different operating conditions."
Seeking to cut the massive US budget deficit, Obama's administration has proposed scrapping the costly and over budget Constellation rocket program.
Instead, NASA would concentrate on research and development that could, over a longer time-frame, eventually see astronauts travel outside low Earth orbit and even aim for Mars.
The US space agency would also be encouraged to develop operations with commercial partners to fly astronauts to the space station.

Question #4:

The arrow paradox (Is motion an illusion constructed by a false reality)?

“ If everything when it occupies an equal space is at rest, and if that which is in locomotion is always occupying such a space at any moment, the flying arrow is therefore motionless. ”

—Aristotle, Physics VI:9, 239b5

In the arrow paradox (also known as the fletcher's paradox), Zeno states that for motion to occur, an object must change the position which it occupies. He gives an example of an arrow in flight. He states that in any one instant of time, for the arrow to be moving it must either move to where it is, or it must move to where it is not. However, it cannot move to where it is not, because this is a single instant, and it cannot move to where it is because it is already there. In other words, in any instant of time there is no motion occurring, because an instant is a snapshot. Therefore, if it cannot move in a single instant it cannot move in any instant, making any motion impossible.

Question #5:

how should i react to his advances?

A guy friend invited me on a trip with him. He said he'd pay for the flights and accomodation: I made it clear that we'd be going as friends as I dont see him in that way. I even told him that i wasn't bringing my razor on the trip so he'd get the hint that I wasn't going to do anything.

Our first part of the trip was great: we had a large apartment so plenty of space and separate rooms. We have now moved to another city where we get a room with only one bed. He made a few hints about sharing the bed to me but eventually agreed to get a second bed put in the room.

He was a good friend but has gone all moody on me. What should I do?

Question #7:

Can dependents get military Space A flights?

I want to take a Space A flight. My husband is Army Active Duty stationed in Germany and I was wondering if I could take a Space A flight to visit him over my winter break from school. Can I take one without my sponsor being with me? Also, I am going to France for the summer for an internship and my husband will be deployed then, would I be able to take a Space A flight then?

Question #8:

Why do I keep feeling bitter about the joining the military?

In 2 weeks I leave to BMT I should be happy, but Im not. To be honest, Im extremely bitter about it.

I first went to go see my recruiter in October 2008 while a senior in high school, this was kinda my dream, plus i wanted to get out of my house.

Well long story short, my first recruiter got promoted in may 2009 as I was graduating high school, the 2nd one was a rookie and effed up my papers even more so we got in a fight, and this 3rd one is cool. but I should've been in BMT last summer and now I'm going in 2 weeks, I see kids from my high school that I know that recently graduated this summer going into my office signing up and are about to ship-out with me or a few months after.

I cant lie and it bothers me to say this, but it makes me cry seeing how easy they get it and I went through so much drama to enlist, just to get out of my house.

Plus I couldn't even get the mechanical job I signed up for, the Air Force cancelled/postponed my shipment date indefinitely cause they wanted to ship me out later in F/Y 2011. So my recruiter got my a different job

My recruiter says I should be extremely happy and grateful cause its "so hard" to get in the Air Force, that Im going to BMT and that my job is cool cause I get to wear a flight suit and work in a cubicle looking at space

-_________________________-
Im not as much bitter over the job I have, more as the time it took to get the ship-out date and how people are going in and getting theirs real quick while mine took forever.

Question #9:

3 month old conure... what do you know about this?

I live in Hawai'i and our inter-island flights are 20 minutes, and we don't reach a very high cruising altitude. What do you think if I figured out a way to bring my little Cinnamon Cheek Conure from one isladn to another?

He is pretty good with socializing and he loves to sit on my shoulder or the seat head or seats themselves while we drive. He is not scared of lots of people in tight spaces. in fact, he burrows into my shirt very easily.

Also, do you know of any good pellets to feed him?

I have an avian vert but we will not see him for a month or so. If you have any pointers that would be great!

Aloha
actually this is a post for airliners. I need to know about the cabin pressure and what effect it has on humans.

I need someone who knows about airplanes.

of course i could google pellets. the pellets was an extra add. i copied and pasted this question in pets as well.

Question #10:

Can I enter the Schengen space through Spain if I have a Type D French visa? (SAUF CTOM CESEDA R311-3 6º)?

Hi,

I have a type D French visa that reads "FRANCE (SAUF CTOM)" on the "Valid for" field.
On the Remarks section, it has:
"ETUDIANT
CESEDA R311-3 6º AUTORISE TRAVAIL
LIMITE 60% DUREE LEGALE"

I read somewhere that a type D visa is only valid within the country that expedited it.

My question is, can I arrive to the Schengen space through Spain? It's much cheaper for me if I take a flight to a Spanish city that is close to the French border and then go by train or bus to France.

Question #12:

What do you think supporters of illegals are very pleased with these results the system works?

CNSNews.com) – Even as Congress increased overall federal spending from a then-record $2.6 trillion in fiscal 2006 to $3.6 trillion in fiscal 2010, it only appropriated enough funds for the Department of Homeland Security to provide a fraction of the additional 40,000 detention spaces for illegal aliens that had been authorized by an immigration law approved in 2004.

Because it lacked adequate detention space, DHS says it was forced over the last three years to release hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens it had caught and were being processed for deportation. Among these, as CNSNews.com recently reported, were 481 illegal aliens from state sponsors of terror and other "countries of interest" that DHS caught and released in fiscal years 2007-2009 and who are now fugitives whose wherabouts is unknown.

These 481 caught-and-released fugitive illegal aliens from terror sponsors and "countries of interest" include 97 citizens of Nigeria, the country from which Northwest Flight 253 hijacker Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab hailed. They also include 8 citizens of Yemen, the country where Abdulmutallab was recruited by al Qaeda, as well as 87 Pakistanis, 34 Lebanese, 29 Iranians, 22 Somalians, 14 Sudanese, 13 Syrians, 8 Algerians, 4 Afghans, and 2 Saudia Arabians.

Syria, Iran and Sudan (along with Cuba) are designated by the U.S. State Department as sponsors of terrorism. Nationals of the other countries were singled out by DHS for enhanced security scrutiny when boarding U.S.-bound flights after the attempted Christmas Day bombing of Northwest Flight 253.

Yet in recent years when nationals of these countries were found to be illegally in the United States, they were not automatically detained while undergoing the deportation process--allowing some of them to become fugitives.

Congress has been uncharacteristically frugal in funding detention spaces for illegal aliens despite a 2004 law that specifically authorized and directed DHS to increase the number of detention beds by 8,000 per year--for a total of 40,000--in the fiscal years from 2006 to 2010. Had the 2004 authorization been followed up with the necessary annual appropriations, it would have increased the number of detention beds available for illegal aliens from roughly 20,000 to 60,000http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/71345

Question #13:

Physics webassign? Helpp!?

Suppose a rocketship in deep space moves with constant acceleration equal to 9.8 m/s^2, which gives the illusion of normal gravity during the flight.

(a) If it starts from rest, how long will it take to acquire a speed 0.2 times that of light, which travels at 3.0 multiplied by 108 m/s? **I got 6122448.98 seconds, which is correct.

This question I keep getting wrong!
(b) How far will it travel in so doing?

Question #14:

Blues, ABUs, or Civies (Air Force)?

Im coming home from tech school for leave, what should i wear on the flight home? boots take up a lot of space so it would be good to wear ABUs, but i just don't know.

Question #15:

Un or Sub consciousness; will you comment please?

A thousand contagious lies
wriggle like maggots
inside my senses confused about why,
waiting to grow wings, be transformed
into what I might better believe
I must release each dirty syllable

into it's frenzied flight, to find any others accepting.
greedy to close the space
between my ears and any acid tongue.
The fight may be valiant to consider
but none win in the end
all I am able to to voice and defend.

Confused instead, I shrug, swallow and
feel a Universe of White noise
static, unspoken sounds
crawling down my throat
burrowing through soft tissue
preparing to live, feed on me or die in the attempt

I am not afraid
I know where truth lives
not only by what I am said to be
The pump pushes the blood through arteries
but collusion too has taken up residence
behind the myrid whispers.

There are Oceans I'll never be able to swim
Mountains I'll never climb
New blooming flowers I'll never see
For now retaining the better of me
is all I truly have
and sorting that out is a growing task.
This was initially going be be included in the Spider Chronicles.

Question #16:

alright see my husband is active in the army he is posted in germany bomholder can i go on space a flight to visit him for a week or two then come back on space a flight and if so what all do i need to do and need to go he is there til december then to school in another state and i jusy had a miscarage so i would like to go be with him through this point and time i have my id and i am in his deers also how can i git from the airport to the base

Question #17:

Would it be fair to charge extra for obese people to fly?

I would love to eat junk food all of the time but I don't because I don't want to be fat or unhealthy. I am 170cm tall and weight 64kg. When packing my suitcase I had to get it under 20kg. I was at 22kg and had to remove some stuff. Why, when an obese person weighing 120kg can gain or lose about 5kg around the flight time. Should people be weighed and charged accordingly? Also, the seats are so small, what about their flab taking your seat space?

Question #18:

Have any anxiety sufferers experienced this?

I have had anxiety for the last 2 months or so (it definitely seems most likely due to smoking weed for a month). I had bad derealization (DR) and a bit of depersonalisation (DP). Eventually I decided to just carry on as normal as I could, eating healthily, exercising and getting out and about, seeing friends. I've even gone a flight to Norway with my parents for a 5 night holiday despite having anxiety (which also made me scared to fly).

For the last few days my derealization has faded and my overall anxiety has stopped me being scared. BUT now I still don't feel myself, it's hard for me to explain (which worries me even more). I feel spaced out and subdued... I am struggling to focus and be concise whilst typing this question, but I want to get it out there.

So any thoughs or feelings - or account of what you have experienced/are experiencing with anxiety and in particular derealization and depersonalisation would maybe help me to understand what I myself am going through.

Also it feels like I have been relating to some things in a different way in example I have noticed different sounds in music that I didn't before etc.

I am 15 so I suppose to some extent my mind is going to be changing anyway in the space of 2/3 months. But anyway, I just want to know that this is anxiety/DP/DR and not some other thing... The closes thing it could be is to depression because everything seems more dulled down and grey - although my actual state of mind is that I would be happy if it wasn't for the anxiety/DP/DR...

Eh I am rambling - please share your thoughts and experiences. Thank you.

Question #20:

Will humans ever be a space faring species?

Maybe I've just been playing to much Mass Effect and Halo lol but I just can't think of anything that would stop us. 100 years ago we were flying wooden planes that could barely hold 1 person. Now we're flying huge planes that flies hundreds of ft into the air that houses hundreds of people. when can we ever master space flight and what stands in our way?
